The Railway Stock Yards

The yards at the Feilding Railway Station are not so conveniently arranged for loading cattle as they ought to be. An enclosure at the rear is required, or wings to the entrance, to enable owners to get stock into tbo yards easily. A gentleman (of Awahuri) who had 300 head of cattle be intended forwarding by rail, has been compelled to drive them overland to Wanganui, as the time and trouble, with the knocking about the cattle receive before they can be put in the trucks, make driving the most convenient and least expensive. We hope the authorities will act on this hint, and havf; yards erected suitable for loading as well as unloading ; with proper drives leadiug into the trucks ; also gates which can bo opened or shut whether the yards aro full or empty. Any stnokman or cattle dealer can show tlia Department | what is wanted.
