Friendly Societies Demonstration
[FROM OUR OWN correspondent.] Palmerston, This Day. At a meeting of delegates ef the
Friendly Societies beid last night, it was deoided to hold a large Friendly Society Demonstration at Palmerston, on tbe day after the official opening of tbe Manawatu Railway. All Societies between WeUington and Wanganui are to be asked to take part. The Friendly Societies have also decided to allow the Caledonian Society to hold a monster sports on New Year's Day.
