A Bridge at Aorangi
—^ — i In another column we publish a letter from Mr Macartauh, M.H.R., on tho above subject. The writer has reduced the question to its narrowest limits, and skown how easily the work may be accomplished without increasing the burdens of the ratepayers. In this connection we may state we have heard incidentally that several property owners on the far side of the bridge have expressed an intention to do nothing until the road alongside the railway line is made passable. Such a determination was all very ! well when there was no apparent hope of communication being opened with Feilding otherwise than by the railway; but now there is a certainty that vehicular communication can be established, there no longer exists a reason for their opposition. The very fact of a bridge being constructed will be the cause of the formation of a good read joining Feilding aud Palmerston at very little additional expense.
