Otago, though, the visitors appeared to find it a little sloppy. Sliaw captained the Sydney team, as he was able to play for hia side. The weather was excellent aud the attendance large. The game turaed out to be yery one-sided, and the visitors were everywhere overmatched, It wa3 full of incident, as the score made shows, but the incidents were too one-sided to make the game exciting. Five minutes after play commenced Miller potted a goal for Otago, and another followed when play had extended over 17min, Bee kicking before ! the half-hour was over. Thomson secured a try, which Bee converted ' into a goal at half-time, the score being Otago 13 poiats, Sydney nil. Twelve minutes from the start of the second spell Strong secured a try, and Bee kicked another goal. Not long after Morris secured a try, and Bee again placed a goal. The Sydney team made strenuous offorts to prevent further scoring, and succeeded, though hard pressed, and the game ended with th« Otago score at 23, Sydney nil. The Sydney men are to be entertained at a smoke concert to-night. Another team plays against them on Monday. September 13.
