STEVENS AND GORTON'S STOCK REPORT.
We have had without doubt since our last report 3 of about as bad days as it was possible to have for our stock sales at Miirton on the 24th, at Foilding on the LHJth, uli... ;wid at Palmerston on the 2nd inst. Stuck looked at the their worst ; and at Fell ling tho thunderstorm was so sevens that wohad to adjourn for half an hour in the middle of the sale, and yet we are glad to be able to report most successful sales on each occasion. Only a few cattle camo forward at Marton, but our yards were filled with sheep ; we sold everything excepting two pigs. AtFeilding we had large entries of cattle, a fair number of shoop, and a good many nni broken horses ; we sold all the cattle excepting two pens, and all the sheep and horses. At Falmerston we had large entries of cattle, a good line of sheep, and several horses; beef, of which a good many were offered, all sold at satisfactory prices, there being a marked riso in the price. Fat wethers also sold well. The majority yarded were sold, a few head of cattle and a portion of ono pen of sheep being passed in. Our quotations are : — Cattle.— At Marton : Yearlings, 42/- to 33/6. At Feilding : Fat cows, £4 2/- ; 3-year steers, £4 18/6; 2£-y ear steers, £3 7/6 ; IS-months' to 2-year steers, L 2 16/---to £2 16/6; 2-year steers, £2 19/-; yearling steers, 38/6, 18 months' (mixed), 38/-; weaners, 29/- ; calves, 18/9; milkers, £4 1/- to £4 6/- ; the pick of four working bullocks, £7 10/- per head. At Palmerston: Beef (bullocks), £5 15/-, £6 10/-, £6 15/-, and £7 10-; forward bullocks, £5 10/ - ; 3-year steers, £3 6/to £3 11/6; well-bred 3-year heifers, close to calving, £4 17/-, £4 17/6, £4 1 8 6 ; year steers, £4 3/6; milch cows, £3 10/- to £5 10/6; cows, £2 10/-; working bullocks, £4 of- per head. Sheep.— At Marton: Fatwuthers, 10/6, 10/10, and 11 '6 ; hoggets (mixed), 6/- to 7/3. At Feildmg : Fat wethers, 9/4 to 10/4; mixed hoggets, 5/6 to 6/1. At Palmerston : Fat wethers, 12/- ; forward sheep, 8/- ; mixed hoggets, 6/6. Horse?. —At Feildmg : Unbroken draught fillies, £8 15/- ; light colts and fillies, twelve sold (yearlings t© 3-year olds), £1 10/- to £6 *10/- ; hacks, £o's/-. At Palmerston : Unbroken colts and fillies, £2 5/- to £3 17/6.
