! The excitement has increased rather than abated ih the Hall case, owing to various rumors current during ttie week. It was stated that Hall had attempted to commit suicide, and also that Miss Houston had turned Queen's evidence, but there was no foundation for either report, and the Opurt was very densely crowded this morning. Hall looked very downcast, but Miss ; t Houston appeared to be iv better Aj spirits than on Monday last. Both prisoners were, at the request of counsel, allowed to sit during the enquiry. Both Professors Black and Ogstonare here, and will give evidence. Since the arrest Mrs Hall has considerably " improved in health, and all the symptoms from which that lady was suffering were from slow antimony poisoning. In regard to the female prisoner it was plain that at the time of ttie arrest she knew Hall had antimony in his possession, and suggested photography, which hint he did not accept. Her interference was another proof of guilt. The. food, except the early oup of tea and the breakfast, was served by Miss Houston to Mrs HalL It would be shown that the two prisoners constantly remained up after 12 o'clock, and were on most familiar terms, he calling her " Megrims/' shejailing Mm "Tom." — Post correspondent.
