Grace and Shrewsbury, continued at the wickets until the stumps were drawn for the day, the Knglinhmen having lost two wiekrtn for 279 runs, Graco (caughtj 170, Scotton (bowled) 34, Shrewsbury (not out) 42, and Read (not out) 30.
