Retailers are contenting themselves with small purchases to meet immediate requirements, I und there are no larj;e transactions. 1 Prices continue the same as those quoted > last week in our four-weekly summary. There has been no rush for the first of the new season's tea, which arrived per Tamsui, from Foochow. No cargoes from other than colonial ports! have ar»' rived tftrWeJlingtnn during the week, the only vessel arriving from ' England being the s,s. Aorangi, from Plymouth, via Port Chalmers. She, however, landed no cargo here, but went on to Auckland after landing passengers and mails. There is no change in the price of colonial produce, grain and flour being at the same rates as last week.

The qunntity of wheat afloat for the United Kingdom is 1,830,000 quarters, or 180,000 less than last week. ■ New Zealand mutton* prime quality, .is realising 4fd to.sd per pound. Australian leather, best quality, is realising lOfd per .pound. The wool market continue! firm. The arrivals up to date for the next auction amount to 240,000 bales. Adelaide wheat is quoted at £4 10s to £5; flour -town brands, £11; country, £10151.
