A ease of stabbing has occurred here to- night, in which the perpetrator was George Brewn, s lodginehou«e- keeper, and the sufFerer a young man namedThomas McMahon. It appears that Brown bad been the wor«e for liquor all day and quarrelling with; McMahon. Jn the evening a.il the young man was going into the dining room Broun rushed at him with ab open pocket knife. McMahon knocked down his assailant, but he rose, and stabbed McMahon on the left thigh Brown was overpowered and subwqnently arrested an a charge of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
