Borough Elections

To-day we publish an address to the burgesses from Mr John Bartholomew who is a candidate for the vacant Beat in the Council. It will be remembered that Mr Bartholomew was amember of tbe Council last year but resigned in consequence of the firm of which he is a member being contractors within the meaning of that clause of the Municipal Corporations Act which made it illegal foi any contractor to sit in tho Council. That objection is now removed and Mr Bartholomew is again desirous of giving his services to his fellow burgesses. We have pleasure in giving our testimony to the diligence he displayed in tke Council together with the regularity of his attendance at all its meetings, and are convinced that h©, if re-elected, will prove a decided acquisition to the Council.
