Manchester Road Board
An ordinary meeting of the above was hold on Saturday. Present — Messrs Lethbridge (chairman), Whib- ' ley, Pleasants, and L:nton. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The foUowing correspondence was read : — From the Registrar Supreme Court, asking further particulars anent • Thomas Cameron's sections in the Manchesterßlock Memo from Wanganui District Hospital Board advising rate of £60 -"• 19s 7d, and enclosing cheque for £10." From Secretary of the Treasury, aes.;-*"' knowledging receipt of cheque lor* £41 13s. , "' y '' '"""" From certain settlers on the Rangitawa road, asking a culvert to-.be put in. (The Engineer was instructed te see to this.) ■'*:•' ' T From John Cotter, asking the Board to rescind the permission given ib?:.' Mr Lowes to retain the gate* oyer a A certain road, as Mr Lowes had not contributed towards the erection of j»A fence. f From G. A. Jackson, asking to have 7 tho bush felled on certain roads!: • , From the E. & CA. Corporation 7* asking that section 4, sub- division P., A be transfered to Thomas A. Hackett, ) and section 5, sub-division P., to John Gallagher, both of Ashurst. From T. Jeffrey, asking section 10 to be transfered to 8. Millher. From A. Bell, asking permission to erect a gate across a district road that runs from the Makino to the Kimbolton road. .'--■■ From Gams Brewer calling attention to a culvert on the Ashurst Troad near his " property. (The Engineer was instructed to see tb this.) From the Licensing Committe, enf closing certificate ro pnblicans license. From the. Secretary Kiwitea Road . Board, re appointment of a ranger/ From the Secretary of the Treasury^ re £119 16» lld payable to the Board.. From Michael Clenaghari, re clearing, a road to his property: Mr Linton proposed and Mr Leth- .= bridge seconded. That this Board will' join with the Kiwitea Board in appointing a ranger, the roads to bo defined when the ranger is appointed. , ; Carried. A: Mr Whibley proposed and Mr i. Pleasants seconded, That Mr G. dA. * Jackson be allowed to fell roadline < mentioned in his letter of July 3rd 1886, to be repaid wheu the Board ia in funds, at the usual rates 30s. jper acre. Carried. Proposed by Mr Lethbridge, seconded by Mr Linton, That Mr BeUV request to erect a gate on No. 6 line be granted during the pleasure of the Board. — Carried. Proposed by Mr Whibley, seconded by Mr Pleasants, That the sections mentioned by the E. & CA. Corporation and T. Jeffrey be transfered a» ' requested. — Carried. -^ Accounts for £838 10s were passed-., fur payment and the meeting uloued. " '--
