fBBUTKES TELEGBAMB.] Pabis, June 9. The French Government in reply to the Enclish Foreign office ha ye announced officially that the object of despatching French wan«of-war to the New Hebrides was to protect French subjects. June 10. M. de Freyciaent has assured Lord Lyons, British Ambassador, that the action of the French Government in despatching^ war vessel to the New Hebrides is solely due to the necessity for protecting the French subjects from massacre by the natives: Lohdok, June 9. It is believed at the Foreign Office that the French vessels which recently proceeded to the New Hebrides were despatched there solely for the purpose of obtaining reparation for nn outrage y the Natives on French subjects. Confidence is felt that France will not act in an underhand manner.
