A serious collision has occurred between Protestants and Catholics in Belfast, and rioting was continued for some time, in spite of the efforts of the authorities to restore order.

The Aorangi left Plymouth yesterday moruinif, for Auckland and Wellington, calling at the Cape en route.
The sculling match, Malterstn v. Godwin, took place jeaterdaj. and resulted iii a victory for MatteMon, who won by three lengths from his opponent. The Colonial Copyright Act was read for the second time' ia the Lords to-day. The selection of a successor to Ur Moorhouse as Bishop of Melbearne has been postponed until Bth June.
Mr Grantham Berry ha* requested the Soeretary of State for the Colonies to furnish him with a definite statemont as to the intentions of the Government with regard to the proposal for the annexation ef the New Hebrides by the Frenoh Government.
