We understand that negotiations are in progress for laying on a vessel direot from Wanganui to Kimberley, at a lower fare th_.n has yet been advertised. It is the intention of the expectant charterer to go to Cambridge Gulf, from which the distance is only 290 miles, as against 350 via Derby. •—Chronicle.
