Mr Billons storekeeper of Akaroa, waß selling some blasting powder in his yard this morning, and the purchaser, James Hewitt, lit some, to try if it was damp, when all the powdtr — several pounds — exploded. Both men on fire crossed the road te the chemist's where their handstmd heads were found t© be severely burned. They were carefully attended to by the doctor, and are pro* grossing favourably.
