A Great Salt Lake
Bir George Grey, when he was epeaking in the House on the New Hebrides, said-" Look at the position of the Pacific at the present time. The Pacific, iv fact, is becoming a great inland water or lake, and lying round it are portions of the AngloSaxon race— in truth the Anglo-Saxon race encircles its shores. If honorable gentleman will look at the coasts of America they will find that this sea or lake is guarded on one side by positions held by the American States, or by Canada, or by Vancouver Island. On the other side there are the people of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and the peoples of the_ Western Pacific. There are great arising around this lake, and in a very short time it wiU be found that the affairs of the rest of the world will fall into insignificance as compared with those of this great central lake."-^-Hansard.
