[PER UNITED EBESS ASSOCIATION.] JVapiek, May 21. A meeting of policy holders was held last night. The meeting was ; < addressed by Mr Shannon, who spoke ' strongly of Sir Julius Vogel's action, ; especially with reference to the pur- ■ chase of property, and the appoint- > ment of Messrs Driver and Speight. ' A series of resolutions was carried deprecating the proposal to hand over the Association to Government control, i and suggesting that there should be i four elected members of the Board - A. vote of confidence in Messrs Fisher and Shannon was passed. Mr Fisher vras requested to bring a Bill before t Parliament making the required ( jhanges.
