WELLINGTON MARKETS.
Wkiaixgtox, May 15. During the week the only arrival of an Encliah vessel has been that of the ship Oamaru from JLondon, with a cargo for Wellington. Businesi is still quiet, no larjp trade lots «f goods changing hands, and only ordinary trade going on. Sugar in unchanged in price. There is a consider* bl« quantity »f Chin* sugar in the market, but quotation* are without alter* ation. Currants are alio untUsred, and little business ia being done in them on account of tbe high pric » Tinned salmon is wry tc&rce. Only old stocks and outside brands remain on hand, and these are variously quoted at from 7s 9d to Bs. The new season's stocks will not arrive for two months. Lobster* are also scarce. Quotations are from 9s 6d to 9s 9d. Candles are still exceedingly low in price, and the old stock* are sacrificed to make way for incoming supplies. The stock of kerosene is large, and a further arrival is expected within a week. Prices are still low. — Times.
