Shrewsbury and Bates not.out men of the prerious evening, managed to put together the number of runs required to win. Shrewsbury carrying out his bat lor fifteen, while Bates had twelve to his credit. The English thus won the match with eight wickets to spare. The scores were as follows : — Australian eleven, Ist innings, 98; second 70— Total, 168. Lord Sheffield's team. Ist innings, 105;' second innings, 64— Total, 169.
