May 16 A meeting of the Conservative* was held here last night to consider the Irish proposals of the Government. Lord Salisbury, in addressing the meeting, stated the belief that it was impossible to plice confidence in the Irish people, and advocated a policy of continuous coercion as the only means of restoring order in Ireland.
