Fatal Railway Accident
CBKUTEE3 TELBOKAMB.I Adelaide, April 22. A fatal railway accident occurred on the Hergott Springs and Strangwayi station section of the Northern Railway Extension, now in course ©f eonstructiou, about eight o'clock last night. A train consisting of an engine and eleven trucks having on board thirty -eight ballast men, was returning, when, on reaching an embankment, the driver «f the engine noticed some cattle on the line, but to« late to stop the train. Tlir«e cattl* were killed, and, getting under the wheels, disrailed the train. Seven trucks were over- • turned, five of the occupants being killed instantaneously, and three others injured. The guard of tho tram had a miraculous escape. The bodies of the ballast man killed were found in a frightfully mangled condition.
