The Taiaroa Disaster

A promeaade concert was held to-night on the Queen's wharf, in aid of the Taiaroa relief fund, when between four or fire thousand pee pie were present. The concert wai given bj members of the church choirs and others, assisted by two brass bands. KiiKOUEi, April 21. Considerable difficulty is being ex* perienoed in dismantling the Taiaroa. The Wakatu brought away some of her fitting to-day, but it is feared that the quantity saved before the Teasel breaks up will not amount to a great deal. Dunkdin, April 21. Tli is evening the Federated Seamen's Union at Port ( 'halnaers voted £40 towards the I aiaroa relief fund. The Stewards nnd Cook's Union hare voted £25. A cheque tor £15 has been sent by the congregation of the Christian Disoiples «ut of a collection made last Sunday.
