♦ — — 9 An ordinary meeting of this board was held on Saturday afternoon. Prosent — Messrs Taylor (chairman), Saxon, Williamson, and JBruce. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. ' Correspondence was 'rea&from : — Denton and Billett asking for payment of acconnt for felling bush on road line. ; ; Prom the Commissioner Lands, declining to approve of $he proposed expenditure of 4#f erred! §>ayment moneys without the'sanction of the owners of properties concerned. From the Treasury notifying |h© payment of £23 10s, being 'revenue accruing from goldfields. \. \^.j,' . Mr Phynn waited upon the board with reference to the state of a portion of Mackay's road. '■' The -~ section^ alongside had been fenced, and per--sons passing along had to wade through ' water which lay there in wet weather. There were, he said,- nearly o^oron children who had to pass that way to school. Accounts were passed for payment te the amount of £535 2s 10a, including Government debentures of £381 9s 9d. The board-then adjourned.
