Customs Returns
[PER UWITED PBSBB ASSOCIATION.] Wslukotok, This D%j. The customs returns for the financial year 188.1-6 have been made up. The amount collected in the colony being £1,417,302, which shows a deficiency of £116,970 below the Colonial Treasurer's estimate. Last month the revenue collected was £116,460 as compared with £138,202 for the corresponding month last year. During the month just passed the pricipal amounts were — -Auckland £22,504, Wellington £22,433, Lyttelton and Chrisichurch £17,638, Dunedin £29,909. The beer duty collected during the financial year was £55,166, which is £166 in excess of the Treasurer's estimate. The amount of. revenue collected during the financial year 1884-5 was — customs £1,4i3,8§& beer £55,719. Vrj;*
