[beuteb's telegbams.] London, March 28, The Agents-General will hold a een# forence to-morrow (Monday) in order to consider a suggestion for a compromise between England and France on the New Hebrides question, whereby England would take possession of the island of Raiatea, France annexing the Hebrides group, and giving a guarantee to abstain from deporting recidivistes to the islandst
Eeceived March 30, 12.55 p.m. Sydney, This Day* A circular has been, issued to th« Governments of the various Australian colonies by the Premier, Sir Patrick Jennings, stating that the Government of New Sonth Wales is not disposed to take any action in opposition to the negotiations now going on in regard to the New Hebrides question, provided Prance grres the necessary guarantee not to deport recidivistes to the Paeifio Islands.
