Manchester Road Board
A meeting of the above board -was held on Saturday. Present Messrs Macarthur, (chairman), Bailey, Whibley, and Linton. The minutes of the previous meeting were road and confirmed. •■ > Correspondence was read and dealt with as follows : — i From J. Mursek, for permission to fell road«line. . From G. H. Aldridge re rates. From same for slan»hter license. * From S. Miller re alteration of name on rate book to G. Milner. From Bauckham and Batterbee, asking for alteration to A. Grren. From Returning Officer, notifying that Messrs Whibley, Grammar, Cummings, Brown and Reed had been elected a licensing committee for the Ashurst district. From Treasury with final payment on account of Roads and Bridges grant. Resolved, " That it is the intention of this Board, under the provisions of £bkj Bating Act, 1882, to make a rate of |diHt'r'the £ on the rateable value of all pro> ; party within the Manchester Road Dis* trict for the year ending the 31st *^»y of Maroh. 1887, such rate to becomeptTabl* on and after the third day of April, ■ 1886, • in one sum ; the rate book to be optri for ->■ inspection at the office of the Board on -;""'" and after the 19th. day of March, 1886, ,'" during office hours." . X lt Resolved, " That Messrs Aldridge. and ' Began be offered pound for pound towards metalling the Ashurst-Bunnythorpe-ro^d to the amount of £130, at the rate of £3 5s per chain." ' ' . ■ ■ . \ Resolved, " That Mr Milner be granted permission to enclose the gravel-pit on the , Stanway-road, the fence to be removed at any time at the request of the board." i, ; . .-,-, ../ , Resolved, " That Joseph Mursek be allowed to fell the road-line as requested, to be paid in two years' time." Resolved, "That Mr Whibley be granted ; i permission to protect hedge, and to place a gate across Whibley's-road, subject to the conditions required by the -Act." Resolved, "That Mr Lowes be allowed to erect a gate on the road through the' ferry reserve at Ashurst on the same con-"/ ditions." . '^^ Resolved, " That Bavokham and Batter-^ bee's request be granted." • ; •■ .~ Resolved, " That a slaughtering license be granted to G. H. Aldridge." ■ The board then adjourned.
