Watts, £139 6s; James fitubbs, £132 1 0s. On the motion of Mr Stewart, seconded by Mr Nairn it ; .was resolved to accept the tender of . Mr James Stubbs, and the Rev A. M. . ■■■ Wright was commissioned to complete for having the work started. The best thanks of the cora- • mittee . was accorded to Mr Smithers for supplying the plans, and to Mr . Heidforpreparingthe specifications and arranging about calling for tenders. o Messrs Stewart and Reid were appointed supervisors of works. Holme of the inhabitants of Awahuri were alarmed on Saturday last by tt»eing flames issuing from a building ; ft the Maori Pah. It blazed furiously • *^t^*i|fc- was entirely consumed. The man is at present lying " Ui. It remains to be seen whether this method of treatment will result in a cure.
