"Puff" on Cardinal Moran

What did you think of Cardinal Moran's sermon ? Full 6i learning and wonderfully interesting as a graphic picture of the position occupied by the Church of Rome throughout the world ! Do you think it gave a correct study of history ? Hum — no, I can't honestly say I do! It gave a glowing account of the triumphs of the Church in all ages, and dwelt on the ruin of nations where religion had been trampled under foot, but it omitted all mention of the blunders of the Church, as for example, the Spanish Inquisition, which by driving out the Mooi-a and Jews, ruined Spain most effectually ! Oh, but you could not oxpect the Cardinal to weaken his own case ! No, of course not, but you asked me what I thought, myself, and I told you ! All right, old man, it's strictly betvreen ourselves ! Yes, I should not like the Cardinal to imagine I wanted to pull his sermon to pieces.
