Wednesday, February 24, 1886. \ Before Messrs W. L. Bailey and C. Bull, J.P.'s. The names of the various objectors to their valuations on the burgess roll were called and the Assessment Court adjourned until Thursday (to-day) at noon. LARCENY. John Paine was charged with stealing certain shirts from the store of Mr C. Brow,n on Monday last. He pleaded guilty. Constable Meehan gave a list of previous convictions. Sentenced to hard labor in Wanganui goal for one month. An order was made for the stolen goods to be returned to Mr Brown* FURIOUS RIDING. S. Monk was charged with furious Tiding in Manchester street on the 15th inst. He pleaded guilty, and was fined 5s and costs 9s. BOROUGJH BYE-LAWS. John Knox Purvous was charged under Borough Bye-law 111 with driving v a vehicle without lamps on Sunday night. He pleaded guilty. Fined 5s and costs 9s. DEBT CASES. M. Keen v T. Gordon.— Claim £2 4s. Plaintiff proved the claim. Verdict for plaintiff and costs. D. E. Lowers v S. Rowley. — Claim £5 8s BJd. The claim was proved and a verdict was given for plaintiff and costs A Hannett v J. Home.— 'Claim £3 10s. Mr Prior appeared for the plaintiff. Case adjourned until Thursday (to-day). Tho Court then adjourned.
