WELLINGTON MARKETS. Wellington, February 20. George Thomas and Co. report produce prices as follows :— With the exception of a slight decline in potatoes and salt butter there are no changes of any moment to nute, therefore a resume of current rates, without remark, will be deemed sufficient information. Flour, £8 15s to £9 5s ; fowls wheat, 3s 3d to 3s 6d ; bran, £ 5 15s; pollard, £6 ; oats (short milling), 2s 7d ; teed, 2s 5d to 2s 6d ; oatmeal, £13; maize, 4s ; barley tailings, 2s 9d ; pearl barley, £18 ; potatoes, for kidney samples, the demand is slackening off, and are not worth more £4 10s ; Dorwents, which are not yet sufficiently ripe, are also ruling at this figure ; onions, L 9; hams and bacon, 8d to B£d ; eggs in demand at Is 3d; cheese, s|d to 6d; fresh butter in plentiful supply at lid; salt do is quite neglected, and we do not care to quote higher than B£d per lb, in face of Sydney advices which state that lOd is the highest price now obtainable th«re for prime parcels. Poultry shows no improvement and we quote — Fowles, 3s 3d ; ducks, 3s 6d; geese, 6s per pair. Fruit— The market is fully stocked, principally with local fruits. A shipment of Molbourne and Hobart supplies to hand, ex Rotomahana yesterday, was, after careful examination, passed, with the exception of 10 cases of pears, in which were found traces of the codlm moth pest. Prices, although somewhat revived, are still too low for shippers to be materially benefitted.
