To start at 11.45 p.m. Post entry 1 soy. Weight not less than 10 stone. Open to hacks that have never won public money (hack races excepted). Distance 1 mile and a distance. Jockeys to ride in colors. 3. FLYIXG HANDICAP, 60 soys. To start at 12.30 p.m. Nomination 1 soy ; acceptance 2 soys. Distance 6 furlongs. 4. SELLING HACK RACE, 30 soys. To start at 115 p.m. Post entry 1 so^. Weight not less than 9 stone. For all hacks that have never won public money (hack races excepted). The winner of this race to become the property of the Stewards, and to be sold immediately after the race. Any other horse in the race may be put up to auction at the request of any Steward or competitor m the race, ihe owner to receive the upset price of £20 ; any further, sum realised to go to the funds of the Club. 1 mile and a distance. Jockeys to ride in colors. ' 5. MANAWATU RACING CLUB HANDICAP, 150 soys, second horse to receive 25 sots from the stakes. To start at 230 p.m. Nomination 2 soys ; acceptance 4 soys. The winner of any race of 100 soys after the declaration of the weights to carry a penalty of slbs, of 150 soys 71bs. 6 LADIES' BRACELET, a handicap of 3> soys in plate or specie, at winner's option. Palmerston North, up to Wednesday, 3rd February, 1886, at 9 p.m. Weights will be declared on Wednes* day, 10th February. ACCEPTANCES. For Handicap Hurdles, Flying Handicap, M.RC. Handicap, Ladies' Bracelet, and Stewards Stakes close on Monday, 22nd February, at 9 p.m. RULES AND REGULATIONS, No entry will be received for any Race except upon this; condition. — That all Disputes, Claims, and Objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majoritj of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying put of this programme shall be finjtl. Ail entries to be sealed and addressed to the secretary, Palmerston North ; Entrance Money enclosed with Name, Age at the time of Entry, Pedigree, arid, in the case of Handicaps, Performances of the Horse, N ame of the Owner, and Colors of the ftider. Any Jockey ridijig except in the colors entered will be fined 3sovs. J When two or more horses start (the property of the same owner) a Distinguishing Colour must be worn. i All persons intending to withdraw horses are required to give Notice to that effect to the Secretary or, Clerk of lhe scales one half »hpur before starting. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this Rule shall pay. a fine of 5 soys to the Kace Fund. All races to be run under the W,J;C. Rules. Horses walking over will only receive half the stakes. No horse to save its stakes in any race except where otherwise specified. All Entries and Nominations must be in the hands of the secretary at the time and place as advertised, accompanied by the amount of nominations and entrance money. Post marks will not be received under any pretence whatever, and nominations unpaid at the time of due date of weights will be struck off the list. Penalties in above programme not to be cumulative.
