STEVENS AND GORTON'S STOCK REPORT. We held our annual Ram and Sheep Fair at Bulls yesterday under certainly most disadvantageous circumstances for it was without doubt, the wettest day we ever held a sale on. This, however, did not affect the prices in sheep, all of which, with the exception of two or three pens, were sold under the hammer at considerably higher rates than of late, but it certainly put a damper in more sense than one, on the sale of the rams. Of the latter we yarded 430, of the former just on 6000. The demands for rams was not so great this year, but the splendid order in which Mr Cobb brought his excellent Romney rams to the sale and placing them before the public without the slightest reserve, rewarded him by obtaining the highest average, and highest price, his average being over £5, and his highest price ram 8 guineas, the next highest average being obtained by Mrs Willis, whose rams were much admired. In the Lmcolns, Mr J. G. Wilson carried off the palm, his average being over £3, his highest price ram being 5£ guineas. Mr Lark worthy's was the next highest in price, but Mr T. Bryce was the next in average, his rams were much admired. We quote the following rates for sheep : —Forward wethers, 7/9 ; young ewes, 6/1 to 6/11 ; full-mouth ewes, good frames, 6/1 ; breeding ewes, four-tooth to fullmouth, 7/6 ; lambs in wool, 3/9 to 5/1 : shorn lambs, 3/7 to 4/3 ; full-mouth, ewes, 4/3 to 5/6. Bulls, February 10.
