The winner of this race to become the property of the Stewards, and to be sold immediately after the race. Any other horse in the race may be put up to auction at the request of any Steward or competitor in the race, ihe owner to receive the upset price of £20 ; any further sum re alised to go to the funds of the Club. 1 mile and a distance. Handicap, Lndies' Bracelet, and Stewards Stakes will be received addressed to the Secretary Manawatu Eacing Club at the Commercial Hotel. Palmerston North, up to Wednesday, 3rd February, 1886, at 9 p.m. Weights will be declared on Wednesday, 10th February. ACCEPTANCES. For Handicap Hurdles, Flying Handicap, M.E.C, Handicap, Ladies' Bracelet, and Stewards Stakes close on Monday, 22nd February, at 9 p.m. EULES AND EEGULATTONS. No entry will be received for any Eace except upon this condition. — That all Disputes, Claims, and Objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final. All entries to be sealed and addressed to the secretary, Palmerston North : Entrance Money enclosed with Name, Age at the time of Entry, Pedigree, and, in the case of Handicaps, Performances of the Horse, Same of the Owner, and Colors of the Eider. Any Jockey riding except in the colors entered will be fined 3sovs. When two or more horses start (the property of the same owner) a Distinguishing Colour must be worn. All persons intending to withdraw horses are required to give Notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of the scales one half*hour before starting. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this Eule shall pay a fine of 5 soys to the Jiace Fund. All races to be run under the W.J.C. Eules. Horses walking over will only receive half the stakes. No horse to save its stakes in any race except where otherwise specified. All Entries and Nominations must be in the hands of the secretary at the time and place as advertised, accompanied by the amount of nominations and entrance money. Post marks will not be received under any pretence whatever, and nominations unpaid at the time of due date of weights will he struck off the list. Penalties in above programme not to be cumulative.
