The Armstrong Case
Mr Poland. Q. 0., has received a very large number of letters in reply to his recent appeal on behalf of the Armstrong family, and a considerable fund has already been raised for their assistance. Eliza Armstrong was. last week placed in the Princess Louise's Home, at Wanstead, for the protection and training, of young girls. It is intended, to- give her two-and-a-half years' good schooling and training, and then to get her. into service. The funds will already admit of a fair dowry being presented to her when she, comes of age, or of the money being invested at interest for her future support. Her- father has been presented, out of the funds, with two new sets of sweeping machines, capable of reaching the tops of the highest chimneys built. Mr Poland has further [^ apportioned". a part of the funds to fufßish. the family a new house, and also to insure for them the payment of the extra rent for the first twelve months. — London Times. -
