HANDICAP HURDLE RACE, 60 soys. To start at 11 a.m. Nomina* tion 1 soy ; acceptance 2 soys. Distance 2 miles ; over 8 flights of hurdles 3ft 6in high. 2. HACK HURDLE RACE, 15 soys. To start at 11.45 p.m. Post entry 1 soy. Weight not less than 10 stone. Open to hacks that have never won public money (hack races excepted). Distance 1 mile and a distance. Jockeys to ride in colors. 3. FLYING HANDICAP, 60 sevs. To start at 12.30 p.m. Nomination 1 = soy ; acceptance 2 soys. Distance 6 furlongs. 4. SELLING HACK RACE, 30 soys. To start at 1.15 p.m. Post entry 1 so?. Weight not less than 9 stone. For all hacks that have never won public money (hack races expepted). The winner of this race to become the property of the Stewards, and to be sold immediately after the race. Any other horse in the race may be put up to auction at the request of any Steward or competitor in the race. The owner to receive the upset price of £20 ; any further sum realised to go to the funds of the Club. 1 mile and a distance. Jockeys to ride in colors. 5. MANAWATU RACING CLUB HANDICAP, 150 soys, second horse to receive 25 sors from the stakes. To start at 230 p.m. Nomination 2 soys; acceptance 4 soys. Distance If miles. The winrier of any race of 100 soys after the declaration of the weights to carry a penalty of slbs, of 150 soys 71bs. 6 LADIES' BRACELET, a handicap of 30 soys in plate or specie, at winner's option. Minimum weight 10 stone. W omination 1 soy ; acceptance 1 soy. Horses to be nominated by ladies. Gentlemen • riders, to be approved by the Stewards. Distance 1J miles. Riders in racing costume. To start at 3.15 p.m. 7. STEWARDS' STAKES, a handicap of; 100 soys, secend horse to receive 10 soys from the stakes. To start at 4 p.m. Nomination 1 soy ; acceptance 3 soys. Distance 1|- miles. The winner of the Flying Handicap to carry a penalty of 51b, and of the M.R.C. Handicap 71b. The winner of any race of 100 soys after declaration of weights to carry a penalty of 51b. of 150 s»vs 71b. NOMINATIONS. For Handicap Hurdles. Flyin? Handicap, M.R.C. Handicap, Ladies' Bracelet, and Stewards Stakes will be received addressed to the Secretary Manawatu Racing Club at the Commercial Hotel. Palmerston North, up to Wednesday, 3rd February, 1886, at 9 p.m. Weights will be declared on Wednesday, 10th February. ACCEPTANCES^ For Handicap Hurdles, Flying Handicap, M.R.C, Handicap, Ladies' Bracelet, and Stewards Stakes close on Monday, 22nd February, at 9 p.m. RULES AND REGULATIONS. No entry will be received for any Race except upon this condition. — That all Disputes, Claims, and Objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final. ; All entries ta be sealed and addressed to the. secretary, Palmerston North ; Entrance Money enclosed with Name, Age at the time of Entry, Pedigree, and, m the case of Handicaps, Performances of the Horse, Name of the Owner, and Colors of the Rider. Any Jockey riding except in the colors entered will be fined ■ When two or more horses start (the property of the same "owner) a Distinguishing Colour must be worn. ; All' persons- intending to withdraw horses are required to give Notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of the scales one half»hour before starting. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply ; with this Rule shall pay a fine of 5 soys to the Kace Fund. All races to be run under the- W.J.C. Rules. : Horses walking over will only receive half the stakes. No horse to save its stakes in any race except where otherwise specified. All Entries and Nominations must be in the hands of the secretary at the time and place as advertised, accompanied by the amount of nominations and entrance money. Post marks will not be received under any pretence whatever, and nominations unpaid at the time of due date of weights will be struck off the list. Penalties in above programme not to be cumulative.
