Compensation Court
(PEB UNITED PBESB ASSOCIATION.) Invebcaegill, January 26. The Compensation court sat to-day, before Judge Ward and the assessors, to hear the claim of Currie v. the Government. Complaintant claimed £126 forjland taken for the SwitzersEailway, by the Government. After hearing the evidence, his Honor said that the court, in arriving at the decision had taken into consideration the price paid for the land, the damage done by severance, the increase in value through the erection of fencing, and placing a railway station on the land, and the convenience which would be afforded by the railway for the carriage of produce, and the award would be £80 and costs.
