Feilding Presbyterian Church
The following is the annual report read at the meeting on Wednesday^"" evening last :—r ■'"■';_ In accordance with our usual custom the financial and managing committee have again. to| report upon the past years operations. -~^- During the year just closedxseveral of the more prominent and useful members have ..MP the, colony removed to another district. Owing ~ to this cause contributions and Sajbbath r , collections show a slight falliilg' off J as ; compared with the^previpus yjaar^, .^^^ Collectors are again reminded that ' the maintenance of our finance upon its present sound basis depends entirely on their individual efforts. ; /. i Early in the year the church sustained a serious loss in the removal to Queensland of the late choirmaster,. .; > Mr Q-eorge Bartholomew. The corncommittee would record their testimony ' to his enthusiastic devotion to choir and church; The management of tfteY I choir has since, .^devolved upon Mr Webster. It has of late considerably improved in number and , efficiency. '■ "" At the last annual meeting a hope was expressed that the 'm^nse. would be built during the yeairl' to\ ■■ the failure of an expected source of ' income for this purpose we are not yet .. prepared to. build; but hope to make a beginning within the year provided the amount in hand reaches £100. Promises of assistance have been cordially ••' offered, i and members fof - committee will proceed with an organ- - ised effort to provide a comfortable residence for our minister. The following members retire, viz., "•' ' Messrs Geo. ifoal, Bartholomew, Webster, and Stevens, the two flatter : being elegible, offer themselves for . re-election. You will be asked to appoint four members to fill these vacancies. A summary of receipts arid expendi-* '". r ture is appended:^ ; t / General Fund.- :i RECEIPTS.
