FOXTON RACES.
The suramor meeting of the Foxton Bacing Club took place, yesterday, and passed off reiy successfully. Tho : weather was all that could be desired, and there were fair fields and good racing. No accidents occurred to mar the- d»»ys enjoyment. There was a< good attendauce, visitors from all parts of the coast being present. The proceed- [ ings vrere considerably enlivened by' the presence of the Makino Band, which played a number of selections \ during the day. Ringleader was mj splendid form, and placed to his credit; two wins. After each race he bolted, ; and caused a little anxiety to hisj jockey. , ; The following are the results : Handicap Hurdle Race, of/ 50 soys two miles and a distance-rNgatitoai 1, OPatent Safety 2, Lady- Bab 3. The! Druid, Rambler, and Orossjack also! started. Ngatitoa went off with the lead, and maintained it to the back of! the course, where he. was joined byRambler. These two raced together : till the second time round, when Thej Druid came up, and: looked like ginning. On coming to the last hurdle Rambler and the Druid fell, leaving I Ngatitoa. to canter in.
