Leary and Campbell report : — Flour, £8 to £8 10s ; pollard £5 5a to £5 10s ; bran, £4, 5s to £4 10a ; oatmeal £11 ; pearl barley, £17 ; maize, 4s to 4s 3d i oats, 2s 2d tc 2s 4d ; chick wheat, ?» &d to 3s ; oaten hay chaff, £4 to £4 10a per ton ; hay, £4 to £4 10s; straw £3 to £3 10s ; onions, £12 to £14 1 potatoes £4 to £4 10a per ton j fresh butter, ?d to 8d per lb ; salt batter, B£d to 9d j eggs, nominally 9d to lOd, with no demand ; hams and baoon, B£d to 9d perlh; cheese, s|d toad per lb; fowls, 3s fld to 3s 9d per pair j ducks 3s 9d to 4s ; geese, 2s 6d to 3s each ; turkeys, 5s to 6s each. The horse sale on Saturday last was not a success, the entries were numerous, but the lots quitted were but few, many owner* were angious to sell owing to the shortness of feed, and forgetting that the scarcity of grass would stop. all sales except for actual wants, put on far too high prices under the circumstances, and the closeness of the sale, too, to the holidays had a dampening effect. Better results may be effected ne*t Saturday.
