Auckland, January 9. Mr William H. Vanderbilt, of New York, died. suddenly of paralysis of the brain at his mansion, New York, on the night of December Bth. His total iacome per annum is stated at 15,000-000 dollars. The money and stock market will not be effected by his death. . The authorities of New York are taking notice of the fact that desperate boxing matches are the rule tiow among the young aristocracy of that place. There was a set to at the rooms of the Athletic Club, the richest in the city, on Dec. 11th, between EUingsworth and - McMahon, two gilded lypuths, the bloody details of which are sickening. .McMahon was punished nearly to death, and the furniture, carpets; land clothes^ of the spectators were sprinkled with the blood of the combatants.
