A Destructive Fire

A most destructive fire broke out in Greenfield street tat bight resulting, before -the flames oould be checked, in the total destruction of Messrs Coombe's timber yard, Burford and Co. 's soap factory, and a number of private cottages. The efforts of the firemen were neutralised by the high wind which prevalfcd,* 'and the damage is estimated at Jfally j£?0,000, the bulk of which will fall upon the South Australian Insurance Company. One of I the buildings < ontaued 1500 barrels of resin which, netted and flowed .along the street, a stream of l^uid fire. -
