The Mangaone School

On Friday afternoon last the breaking up for the holidays of the above institution took place. In Mr Shepherds paddock the usual enjoyable games were provided, and were entered into with great spirit by the children and grown up people. At six o'clock an ample tea was provided for the youngsters, who were well prepared for a vigorous attack on the good things supplied by their previous exercise during the progress of the several games. After they had finished, the tables were again replenished and the adults followed the good example set them by their predecessors. Mr Eng presided, and some excellent adresses were given. Visitors from all parts of the District were present who met with all that hospitality which is invariably found in the districts. After tea a social re-union was held, when everyone seemed to enjoy themselves to their hearts content.
