Singular Murder
It was w; -n: of identification which enabled the murderer of the woman who, for want of the right name, is called Ada Sicard, to escape punishment. A boatman in the bay of New York saw a Iteautifui female foot protruding from the water. The body was tucked in a barrel which ought to have sunk, but didn't. She was identified by a man named Eicard as his wife; - He was quite sure she was. and mentioned as one of the peculiarities which enabled hivi to idvntify her the fact that her feet were so small and her limbs so well developed that she wore stockings two sizes too large for her feet. People were looking for her murderer when- Ada Eicard; made hor appearance on, the scene in, blooming health- wearing the yery .stockings her husband Uadsote«derly remembered. The <-orpse-was merer identified, and the murderer escaped.
