KEUTEB's TELEGBAMS.J LqwDoir, November 27. A private meeting of the creditors in the estate of Messrs Simes and Co., wo«l---brokers, was held yesterday. The meeting was of a stormy nature, and the creditors, who were prevent, are very reticent as to what took plnee. It is bettered that the liabilities of the firm will amount to nearly a quarter «f a million. Messrs Tyser and Co., who are ondearouring to break up the Australian shipping ring, are urging colonial importers to give positive instructions to their English agents to ship all good* by their vessels. They also state that the freights to Sydney exceeds that to Melbourne. At to-day's wool sales, 6,200 bales were catalogued, prices being still firm. The deficit in the Simes and Co. «state is about £70,000. The money of the firm is locked up in the Melrose | estate, New South Wales, and to this is attributed the failure. The wheat market is still dull, and there is but little alteration in the qa*ta« tions. Fcrward shipments are a shade lower than when last quoted.
