HALCOMBE AND SHERWILL'S STOCK REPORT. Yesterday, at our yards here, we held an excellent sale. We yarded 240 head of cattle and 1230 sheep. The whole of the cattle were disposed of under the hammer with the exception of two pens which were sold before the sale concluded, yonng store stock, both male and female showed a decided upward tendency. Sheep, howerer, were somewhat dull of tale. We quote as under : — Fat bullocks, £6 5/.; workers (fat), £6 13/- to £7; fat cows, £3 7/6; 18»monthi steers, £2 15/- to £2 17/6 ; 2 and 2_-year steers, £2 11/-, £3 17/6 te £4 _/• ; 2_ to- 3-year £43/6; yearling Hereford heifers, £1 17/ ; yearlinß steers, £1 15/- to £2 1 1/- ; yearlings and 15»months heifers, £1 12/6 to £1 15/-; 2-year heifers, £2 2/6. We disposed of half-a-dozen horses at fair i values. Feilding, No f ember 20th, 1885.
