'■ his knife ana grasped it finnly-^hur-^ riedly uttered a f ew words(--ho^r ' earnestly can hardly be imagined, bait their ruggedness speaks forcibly, of a mingled terror, desperate courage, and dim-twinkling faith : "0 Lord, I '' dinna- trouble ye iften ;- but ye "'see me, an' ye see this bear. 0 Lord, an* ' ye winna help me', dinna help the bear.
