BKUTXB'S TBLEGBAMS.j London, November 4. The Derie arrived at Plymouth this morning from Wellington, 25 th September. Her cargo of frozen meat was in good condition. At Antwerp wool sales, 8,000 bales of Australian wool were sold, prices averaging about a halfpenny above London elassings. There is at present very severe tension between the Liberals and Badicals, bat it is expected that the coming Midlothian speeches of Mr Gladstone will tend to sooth away the differences between the two parties. Even in the event of King Theebaw submitting to the ultimatum sent to him by Mr Charles E. Bernard, Chief Commissioner of British Burma-, his territory will be placed under the protection of Great Britain. In consequence of the serious state of affairs, British residents are leaving Mandalaj, th* capital of the Burmese Empire. A Colonial Consignment Company is being formed with a capital mi £50,000. Earl Grey, Lord Selborne, the Duke of Westminister, tho Duke of Argyll, and others are promoting a movement for the defence of tho Church. King Alfonso, of Spain, is seriously ill with fever. November 5. The Marquis et Salisbury addressed a public meeting at Lambeth last night. It the course of his speech, he referred to the question of reciprocal tariffs, and pronounced ia favor ef reprisals against those countries which refuse reciprocal tariffs, and further urged that the dutiei now levied sheald be reduced in favor of goods imported from British eelonies. The Czar has formally dismissed Princs Alexander, of Bulgaria, from the Bus. sian army. Received November 5, 1.16 a.m. London, November 6. The Standard to-day publishes a telegram from its special Egyptian correspendent stating that 6000 rebel Arabs are advancing en Wady-Halfa. Sir Phillip Couliffe Owen, at a banqaei last night, eulogised the valuable assist* anee rendered him by the Agents-Gen-ersl of the various colonies in receiving Indian and Colonial exhibits for the Exhibition next year. He promised s hearty welcome to all colonists able te visit the Exhibition.
