[pee united phess association.] ArcKLAKD, November 3. A large meeting of natives took place at Mangarongo on Saturday. A large section of the Ngatimaniapoto signed a document giving over their lands to Tawhiao. Te Wheoro read a letter from Lord Derby saying that all matters wrong before 1862 the Imperial-Government would put right, and all things that were wrong after 1862 thay would instruct the Colonial Government to. put. right. . When Mr Ballance meets the natives they may : refuse money for their .land, which they propose, giving to him, their ! object being to afford no excuse to j ; the Government, for holding any lion j bn their land. They are much exercised [ at reading in the papers that a gentle-man-has been appointed as purchaser of native lands for railway purposes, and think the appointment should not have been made till they, had discussed, the matter and agreed to the lands being sold. ■■.... .. /
