A good start wa* effected, Nordenfeldt being first awtj, but was ioen passed by lionomy. who led all the way into the straight, where First Chester. Thunderbolt, and Winchester came up, and a splendid race home ensued between the first two named and Nerdenfeldt. The Utter, however, managed to land home half a head in front ef First Chester, Thunderbolt lying foarth. The slesenest ef the centest gave rise to meat intense eicilement, as the finish was so close it was doubtful which was the winner aatil the official numbers were hoisted, and it was intensified by the fact that the winner was twice wrongly potted.
