•■ -. M KUBOUBVB, Oct. 17. The second day's racing of the Victorian Amateur Turf Club's Spring meeting was held on the Caulfield Kacacoiirse to-day. The following it the result:— Caulfield Cup distance; one mile and a half. Grace. Darling, '■'. 1; Britisher, 2; Coriolanus, 3. Fortyone horses . started for this event. After some distance had been gone, Loo Loo was seen to fall, and in a moment Sardius; Tom Brown, Sirocco,;. Prince Imperial, Winchester, Lord Exeter, Hilltop, Claptrap, Despot Lucky Hit, Kingship; and Lord Wilton came to the ground in one conf used mass fourteen .horses in all having fallen. Nicholson; who was riding Lord Exeter, was killed, and Cracknell and several other jockey&lii were seriously injured. The horseUrara was also killed. Grace Bar. ling drew ahead and won by half a length, Britisher second; Corioh>nus third. ■-Xime,2min4oßec. Winchester led for some distance, and was in a good position when the accident occurred.
